Oborevwori Meets Ijaw Leaders, Commits to Resolving Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja Crisis

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has reiterated his unwavering commitment to ensuring a peaceful and fair resolution of the ongoing crisis between the Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja communities. Speaking during a crucial meeting with Ijaw traditional rulers and community leaders at the Ugborikoko residence of Captain (Elder) Joseph Timiyen, the Pere of Ogulagha Kingdom, the Governor urged both communities to maintain peace and work together towards a brighter future.

In his address, Governor Oborevwori reassured the leaders of his administration’s impartial stance, emphasizing that unity and development remain central to his leadership. He affirmed that his government would continue to support efforts to bring about lasting harmony and foster collective progress for the region.

The Governor expressed his gratitude to the Ijaw people for their overwhelming support during the 2023 election. He took the opportunity to update the leaders on key ongoing projects, including the newly approved Ayakoromo Bridge, which he said would immensely improve infrastructure in the region.

Governor Oborevwori promised to tackle the community’s pressing issues, such as improving infrastructure, establishing more tertiary institutions, and increasing the number of teachers in riverine schools.

He also conveyed his condolences on the passing of Pa Edwin Clark. In response, Ijaw leaders thanked the Governor for his visit and pledged their continued support for his administration’s efforts to promote peace and development in the area.
