Oborevwori Disburses Grants to 2,000 MSMEs in Delta State
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has disbursed financial grants to 2,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to support business growth and alleviate the impact of Nigeria’s economic challenges.
At the MORE Business Upscale Programme (MORE Biz-Up) event in Asaba, on Thursday December 5, Oborevwori explained that the initiative is part of his administration’s job creation efforts under the MORE Agenda. He highlighted that the programme aims to provide financial support to MSMEs, helping them grow and weather economic difficulties.

“Your success as entrepreneurs is crucial to the economic development of our state and which will further inspire other young entrepreneurs to follow in your footsteps.
Therefore, I urge you to work hard to sustain your businesses”, said the Governor, addressing beneficiaries from a pool of over 10,000 applicants. The 2,000 recipients were selected in two groups: 1,000 new applicants and 1,000 verified past beneficiaries.
He also encouraged entrepreneurs to leverage the skills learned through the programme’s business school and network with peers.
Ifeanyi Egwuyenga, Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer, emphasized that the grants are part of the state’s ongoing commitment to stimulate economic growth and support small businesses.
Representatives from the Artisans Association and the Association of Local Governments (ALGON) praised the governor’s efforts, urging beneficiaries to use the support to further their entrepreneurial goals.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Meshack Okeoghene thanked the governor for the initiative, promising to use the support to drive business growth.
