The statement confirmed that classes would begin immediately after teachers assist students with cleaning their classrooms. It also called on parents and guardians to ensure their children are properly prepared for the school reopening.

The Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu, alongside her counterpart in Primary Education, will also lead teams from both ministries to monitor the resumption process and ensure full compliance by staff and students.

It further emphasised that absenteeism among teachers will not be tolerated, warning that any unexcused absences would result in disciplinary action.

Finally, the statement extended congratulations to both teachers and students for their resilience in entering the new year 2025.
