Speaking during the ongoing JAMB Policy Meeting in Abuja, Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa stressed that admission processes conducted outside the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) are illegal and punishable by law.

“The official age of 16 for admission is not negotiable,” Dr. Alausa said. “Any admission granted outside CAPS will attract sanctions, and the heads of such institutions will face prosecution.”

The policy aims to standardize the admission process across the country and curb admission fraud, which has plagued the education system for years.
