Four individuals have been rescued by Nigerian Army troops after a violent gun battle with kidnappers in Ugbolu Forest, Delta State.

A statement released today on the Nigerian Army’s official X account confirmed that the operation, which occurred on Monday, was launched following credible intelligence that led soldiers from the 63 Brigade to the kidnappers’ hideout. The victims had been held captive for several days and were reportedly subjected to ransom demands by their captors.

During the operation, troops engaged in a fierce firefight with the criminals. The hostages were freed, given medical care, and later reunited with their families.
