NCDMB Empowers 50 Niger Delta Youths with Technical Skills In Warri

In line with its commitment to developing indigenous capacity in the oil and gas industry, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has successfully concluded a specialised training programme on CCTV and Fire Alarm Systems, empowering 50 Nigerian youths with vital technical and entrepreneurial skills.

The closing ceremony took place on Saturday October 4, 2025 at the Multipurpose Vocational Training Centre, Egbokodo, Warri, Delta State, marking another milestone in the Board’s drive to promote local participation and self-reliance in critical sectors of the economy.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, represented by Dr. Abraham Apereseimokomo Alfred, Supervisor, Strategy & Transformation Project/Board Projects, applauded the trainees for their commitment throughout the programme.

He emphasized that the initiative aligns with NCDMB’s human capital development mandate, aimed at equipping young Nigerians with globally relevant technical expertise.

He urged the beneficiaries to utilize their newly acquired skills to create value within their communities and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s industrial growth.

“This training is not just about knowledge acquisition but about building the next generation of skilled professionals who will drive local content in the oil and gas sector,” he said.

To encourage entrepreneurship and immediate application of knowledge, each participant was presented with a start-up toolkit to enable them commence work or establish small-scale ventures in security and safety systems installation.

Other notable NCDMB officials present at the event included Mrs. Temisan Eguando (Supervisor, Executive Secretary’s Office), Mr. Peremobowei Benson (Officer, Finance and Accounts Department), and Mr. Prince Foncha (Officer, Corporate Communications).

The CCTV and Fire Alarm Systems training forms part of NCDMB’s broader capacity-building initiatives aimed at empowering Nigerian youths, promoting technology transfer, and reducing dependence on foreign expertise in the oil and gas value chain.
