JAMB Extends 2025 Admission Deadline to November 17
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has pushed the deadline for the 2025 admission exercise in public universities from October 31 to November 17. The Board announced the change on Sunday through its Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.
JAMB said the extension followed appeals from the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, noting that court orders and other disruptions had slowed the admission process nationwide. The shift also provides room for 229 newly accredited programmes spread across 37 universities, approved by the National Universities Commission on October 29.
While acknowledging the efforts of institutions to meet the earlier cut-off date, JAMB stressed that the new deadline would be final.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to running a fair and credible admission process in line with national education priorities.
