Remi Tinubu: ‘I Hold No Grudge Over 2023 Election Betrayal’
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has revealed that she has forgiven those who betrayed her husband during the 2023 presidential elections, saying she no longer feels the sting of their actions.
Her reflections are contained in a new memoir, The Journey of Grace: Giving Thanks in All Things, launched to mark her 65th birthday. The 52-page book chronicles her spiritual journey from 2021 to 2025, including her perspective on one of the most divisive elections in Nigeria’s history.
According to her, several allies distanced themselves from Bola Tinubu’s ambition, but she drew strength from scripture and her conviction that “only God rewards good deeds.” She wrote that the “Grace factor” made it possible to release bitterness and embrace thanksgiving.
She now says her focus is on supporting national progress, adding that she has chosen to live by the biblical example of “doing good regardless of betrayal.”
