Governor Fubara Approves ₦100,000 Bonus for Workers

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a ₦100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state, a gesture aimed at ensuring a joyful and fulfilling festive season for the state’s workforce and senior citizens. The approval was made public in a statement signed by the state’s Head of Service, George Nwaeke, on Tuesday.

The bonus, which was granted on Monday, marks the second consecutive year that Fubara’s administration has provided civil servants with a Christmas bonus of ₦100,000, a sum that exceeds the nation’s minimum wage. This year’s bonus is also a first for pensioners, who are included in the festive goodwill for the first time under Fubara’s leadership.

In his message, Nwaeke noted that the bonus was intended to support workers and pensioners in celebrating the season with ease and satisfaction.

Governor Fubara, in his Christmas message, urged the people of Rivers State to embrace peace, unity, and love during the holiday season and beyond. The governor stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence, especially in the face of the nation’s ongoing economic and security challenges. He called for a collective effort to overcome these hurdles and create a more prosperous future for all.
