Fifteen-Year-Old Reportedly Murdered During Church Vigil In Okuokoko

A fifteen-year-old girl has been reportedly murdered inside a church in Okuokoko, Okpe Local Government Area, Delta State.

A family relative who spoke anonymously to Warri Sentinel revealed that the young girl was brutally tortured and killed on Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Voice of Liberty Intercessors Ministry where she attended a vigil with her 13-year-old sister and their grandmother in Okuokoko.

The source further explained that the victim and her sister were on holiday at their grandmother’s resident in Otokutu in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State. According to the relative, the girl was subjected to severe physical abuse, including being cut with a blade and beaten in the pastor’s office. This happened after the church security camera showed that she was in possession of a missing phone. The grandmother was said to be absent from the scene of the incidence.

Speaking further, the relative disclosed that the pastor, Mr. Joshua Mone, who is also a family relative has been pleading with the family of the deceased to resolve the matter. According to him the case is yet to be reported to the police.

Warri Sentinel reached out to the pastor and the church desk for comments but their lines were not reachable as at the time of this report.
