Edwin Clark Receives Posthumous Recognition at 2025 Silverbird Awards
A posthumous honour was bestowed on former Federal Commissioner for Information and prominent Niger Delta advocate, Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, at the 2025 Silverbird Man of the Year Awards. The award, presented during the 20th anniversary edition of the ceremony, recognised his lifetime of service to national development and the struggle for equity in the Niger Delta.
The event took place on March 1, 2026, at Eko Hotels and Suites, drawing dignitaries from across the country. Accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of the family, Delta State Commissioner for Riverine Infrastructure, Hon. Ebikeme Clark, conveyed appreciation to the organisers for keeping the memory of the late statesman alive.
He commended Silverbird Productions, led by Ben Murray-Bruce, for the recognition, noting that the honour reflects the enduring relevance of Clark’s voice in national discourse. According to him, the elder statesman championed justice, fairness and national unity throughout his lifetime.
Clark, who died in 2025, remained a vocal advocate for minority rights and resource justice until his final days. His legacy continues to resonate within the Niger Delta and beyond, as tributes pour in from leaders and admirers across Nigeria.
