Edo Police Arrest Teens With Pump-Action Gun
Police operatives from the Uromi Division of the Edo State Command have arrested two young women, 18-year-old Believe Ehinor and 19-year-old Ofoma Sofia, after they were found with a pump-action shotgun. The arrest took place around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, and officers also recovered five live cartridges hidden in a sack.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, the pair admitted that the firearm belongs to one Peace Ehinor, who reportedly fled during an earlier police operation.
In a separate operation, police officers apprehended a suspected kidnapper, Usman Shagari, at Elushi in Ubiaja, Edo Central, following intelligence reports and surveillance efforts. He is suspected to be part of the group that abducted Daniel Okoekhian and his wife on November 22, 2025.
Yamu said the arrested suspects have been charged to court, while the search for other fleeing gang members continues.
