“East-West Road More Urgent Than Coastal Road”  -Ijaw Youths Tell FG

Today being Sallah holiday, scores of youths under the aegis of Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) barricaded the Rivers State section of the East-West Road in a peaceful protest, Warri Sentinel has learnt.

The Ijaw Youths, led by their President, Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, demanded for the swift completion of the project, describing it as very germane to economic prosperity of the Niger Delta region.

Some inscriptions on the placards read, “East-West Road More Urgent than Coastal Road, Place Priority On Developing the Niger-Delta, Fix East-West Road Now, Fix Our Roads to Boost the Economy of Niger Delta, President Tinubu, Coastal Road Is Important to us, but Complete the East-West Road now to Write Your Name in Gold.”

The protesting youths who frowned at the total neglect of the East-West Road, urged the Federal Government to prioritize its completion as soon as possible to avoid the total grounding of the busy road.
