DOU Warns Public Over Fake Nursing Admission Advertisements

The management of Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, Delta State, has issued a stern disclaimer alerting prospective students, parents, guardians, and the general public about a fraudulent online advertisement falsely claiming to offer admission into the university’s Nursing programme through a Post-UTME exercise.

In a statement released in the university’s newsletter dated June 6, 2026, the institution said the fake notice is being circulated by criminal elements intent on deceiving unsuspecting applicants seeking admission.

The university made it clear that it has not authorised any individual, group, agent, or third party to advertise, process admissions, or collect any form of payment on its behalf for Nursing or any other academic programme.

It therefore advised members of the public to ignore the misleading advertisement and refrain from making payments or submitting personal information to anyone promoting such schemes.

According to the management, anyone who falls victim to these fraudsters does so at their own risk, as the institution will not accept responsibility for any resulting losses.

DOU reiterated that all legitimate admission information for the 2026/2027 academic session is only published through its verified official channels.

The university further disclosed that the matter has been reported to security agencies for investigation and possible prosecution of those behind the scam, while urging the public to remain vigilant and verify all admission details directly from the institution.
