Demonstration Sec. School Location May Shift to Uvwie LGA -Source
New reports have emerged amid tensions in the Warri Federal Constituency, alleging a plan to reclassify the College of Education Demonstration Secondary School, Edjeba, Warri, as part of Uvwie Local Government Area.
An insider source who spoke with Warri Sentinel on condition of anonymity revealed that the proposal has reportedly passed all necessary administrative steps and is awaiting final approval by the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.
Residents in Edjeba are calling on the state government to urgently clarify the school’s status and reaffirm existing boundaries to prevent further tension and possible communal unrest.
Another source, an indigene of Edjeba community who is familiar with the issue said the Demonstration School has always been located in Warri South and that efforts to move it into Uvwie LGA raise serious concerns about territorial control and community identity.
The reported development comes amid ongoing political tension in Warri Federal Constituency, where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is proposing the redrawing of electoral wards to reflect population shifts and improve electoral administration.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Delta State Government, Warri South LGA nor Uvwie LGA officials have issued a formal statement addressing the allegations.
