Delta Wins Healthcare Challenge, Secures $400,000
Delta State has been awarded $400,000 in recognition of its outstanding performance in primary healthcare management at the Primary Healthcare Leadership Challenge.
The competition, organized by the Nigerian Governors Forum in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, aims to enhance healthcare access at the grassroots level across Nigeria.
This marks the first time Delta State has been recognized in the prestigious event, which spotlights states making significant strides in improving primary healthcare systems.
Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, the state’s Commissioner for Health, attributed the achievement to Governor Oborevwori’s strategic efforts, including the approval for the renovation of over 150 primary healthcare centers across the state. This initiative has significantly boosted healthcare delivery and access for communities in Delta State.
