Delta State Reschedules Junior Secondary School Exams

The Delta State Government has announced a change to the dates for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), affecting both public and private secondary schools across the state.

Originally scheduled to run from 9 to 13 June, the examinations will now take place from 16 to 20 June 2025, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Daniel Akiri.

The rescheduling follows the Federal Government’s declaration of public holidays on 6 and 9 June in observance of Eid-ul-Adha and Democracy Day, which falls on 12 June.

“We regret the inconvenience the change in dates may have caused,” the statement added.

The significant national examination is undertaken by students at the end of Junior Secondary School (JSS 3).
