Delta Police Remove Asaba DPO, Refund Bail After Complaint

The Delta State Police Command has taken disciplinary action against the Divisional Police Officer of GRA Police Division, Asaba, CSP Joseph Udoh, following a viral complaint over the alleged wrongful murder accusation against Tomi Akporoghene Wojuola.

Police authorities confirmed that Wojuola, who was accused in 2025 after taking a man who collapsed on the road to the hospital, has now been contacted. The man later died despite efforts to save his life. The command stated that the bail money allegedly extorted from Wojuola has been fully refunded.

In an update shared on X, the Police Public Relations Officer in Delta State, SP Bright Edafe, said CSP Udoh has been removed from his position as DPO and sanctioned internally. He added that the officer was earlier summoned to the Force Headquarters in Abuja as part of ongoing administrative procedures.

The development has continued to draw public reaction online, with many social media users acknowledging the police response while calling for stiffer penalties. Some commentators insist that dismissal and prosecution are necessary to address broader concerns about police misconduct and accountability.
