Delta Police Crack Down on Tinted Glass and Illegal Sirens

The Delta State Police Command will begin strict enforcement of tinted glass regulations on Thursday, October 2, 2025, as part of renewed efforts to enhance security across the state. The exercise will also clamp down on unauthorized use of sirens, revolving lights, and defaced vehicle number plates.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, assured that the operation will be professional and respectful of citizens’ rights. Motorists have been advised to carry all necessary documents, including licences and proof of ownership, and to avoid practices that make number plates unreadable.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, directed Divisional Police Officers to monitor operations closely and ensure officers maintain civility during checks. He explained that the measures are aimed at curbing road intimidation and stopping criminals who hide behind tinted glasses and illegal sirens.

Citizens are encouraged to comply voluntarily and to report misconduct through designated police hotlines. The Command emphasized that violators of the new enforcement drive will face immediate prosecution without exception.
