Delta PDP Moves to Court Over Alleged Forged Resignation Letters of Defectors

Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party

The Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised concerns over an alleged scheme to falsify and backdate resignation letters of members who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), warning that it may seek legal redress.

State PDP Chairman, Peter Mrakpor, said the alleged act undermines due process and insisted that none of the defectors formally resigned through their ward structures before leaving the party. He cautioned that those involved would be held accountable under the law.

Mrakpor reaffirmed that despite recent defections, the party remains united and operationally stable across Delta State, expressing confidence in its internal strength and cohesion.

The party also renewed its demand for the APC state chairman, Solomon Areyinka, to vacate its Asaba secretariat, alleging unlawful occupation with state government backing. It vowed to reclaim the property through legal means, noting that the building and its documentation remain registered in the PDP’s name.
