Delta Court Jails Four Over Oil Pipeline Vandalism After NSCDC Arrests

The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has secured the conviction of four individuals involved in pipeline vandalism.

According to a statement by DSC Anthony Uchenna, CDPRO of the command, Justice Olubanjo of the Federal High Court sitting in Asaba found the suspects — Sylvania Elvis, Peter Ojichini, Bala Idris Adey, and Joel Bala Emmanuel — guilty of conspiracy and tampering with oil pipelines.

The court held that the prosecution successfully proved the charges beyond reasonable doubt, leading to their conviction on all counts, with sentences handed down accordingly.

The suspects were investigated by intelligence operatives of the NSCDC Delta State Command.

Reacting to the judgment, the Delta State Commandant of the NSCDC, Chinedu F. Igbo, cautioned against acts of vandalism, urging citizens to remain law-abiding.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding the nation’s critical oil and economic infrastructure.
