Delta Community Shocked as Man Allegedly Rapes, Kills Mother

Shock and grief have gripped Agbarho community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State after a young man identified as Emem allegedly raped and killed his mother. The incident happened late Thursday night at their home on Eferemor Street.

The victim’s younger son returned home to find her lying naked in a pool of blood, with evidence pointing to sexual assault before she was killed. The suspect reportedly fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Residents said the suspect had previously shown unstable behavior, including an attempt to force himself on his mother during an earlier outburst.

The Delta State Police have deposited the body at a local morgue, while a manhunt for the suspect is ongoing. Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe had yet to comment at the time of filing this report.
