Delta APC Begins Registration Drive After Mass PDP Defections
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has launched a registration drive to formalize the entry of new members, following a major wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Local Government Chairmen have been directed to collect registration booklets from the APC State Secretariat in Asaba, as the party works to integrate the new members, most notably, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the entire PDP state structure, who defected to the APC on Wednesday, April 23.
Delta State APC Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, described the registration as “crucial” for ensuring full participation of the new members in party activities.

“These new members bring with them hope for a brighter future and we are committed to ensuring that they are fully integrated into the Party.” Onojeghuo said in a statement on Wednesday, April 23.
The defections are seen as fallout from internal PDP crises at the national level, and they significantly strengthen APC’s position in Delta ahead of future political contests.
Party leaders are urging all new members to register with their ward chairmen and obtain official membership cards, as the APC positions itself for what it calls a “brighter future” in the state.
