DELSU Suspends Academic Activities Amid Security Concerns in Abraka

Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has announced the suspension of all academic activities scheduled for Thursday, 5 June 2025, citing security concerns in Abraka town.

In a statement issued by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Asagba, on Wednesday, June 4, students have been advised to remain indoors until further notice, as a precautionary measure to ensure their safety and that of staff members.

Students and residents of the Ethiope community had protested in the past week against the upsurge in kidnapping and other criminal activities.

The university expressed hope for a swift return to normalcy following the upcoming public holidays.
