Dangote Refinery Imports US Crude Oil
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is set to receive 12 million barrels of crude oil from the United States next month, as local supply shortages hinder its ability to reach full capacity.
The refinery, located in Lekki, aims to hit a refining capacity of 650,000 barrels per day by June, but is currently facing challenges due to low crude supply from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
Sources say the imported crude is crucial for the facility, which has increased production to 500,000 barrels per day.

The NNPC is struggling to meet the refinery’s needs, providing only 350,000 barrels per day of the 450,000 barrels allocated for local consumption.
Dangote is also building eight new storage tanks to accommodate imported crude, raising its capacity by 41.67% to 3.4 billion litres.
