Cubana Group Lawfully Acquired Asaba Land -Community Lawyer
The solicitor to the Ogbe-Ozoma Community, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has clarified that the land being developed by the Cubana Group in Asaba, Delta State, was lawfully acquired and is not encumbered by any subsisting court judgment. Speaking at a press briefing in Asaba on Friday, Ejiofor refuted claims by the counsel to Isele-Azagba that the property falls within the scope of a consent judgment, describing such assertions as baseless and misleading.
He further stated that the land in question is part of the ancestral heritage of the Ogbe-Ozoma Community in Oshimili North Local Government Area and was legitimately sold to the Cubana Group, with title validly transferred in line with legal requirements. According to Ejiofor, the land has never been the subject of any litigation, and no court case was pending before, during, or after the transaction. He also noted that the Cubana Group complied with all statutory provisions under the Land Use Act and has since been issued a Certificate of Occupancy.
Ejiofor emphasized that the clarification became necessary following the circulation of a viral video alleging an unlawful sale of the land. He maintained that the development process has been transparent and conducted in full accordance with the law, urging the public to disregard any claims to the contrary.
In his remarks, he reaffirmed the commitment of the Ogbe-Ozoma Community to uphold the rule of law and protect its ancestral property rights, while warning against attempts to misrepresent the facts or intimidate lawful investors.
