College of Education Warri Set to Provide 1,600 Hostel Spaces

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION WARRI

The Provost of the College of Education, Warri, Dr. Dickson Oyovwi, has announced that no fewer than 1,600 hostel spaces will be made available for students on campus. He made this disclosure during the 20th matriculation ceremony of the college’s degree programmes, which are run in affiliation with Delta State University, Abraka.

Dr. Oyovwi further revealed that the institution currently boasts approximately 800 hostel spaces privately owned by the institution, and a 82-capacity hostel facilitated by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) within the college premises. These facilities, he noted, are part of ongoing efforts to expand accommodation options for the growing student population.

Addressing concerns about student welfare, the Provost assured both students and parents that security on campus is fully guaranteed. He highlighted the installation of streetlights across the institution as part of measures to enhance safety and create a more conducive environment for learning.

While congratulating the newly admitted students, Dr. Oyovwi encouraged them to take full advantage of the available accommodation by residing on campus. He emphasised that living within the school environment would promote discipline, ensure their safety, and help them remain academically focused throughout their stay.
