CEPEJ Takes Anti-Cultism, Drug Abuse Campaign to Schools

The Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) has launched a campaign against cultism and drug abuse in selected primary and secondary schools across the Niger Delta, citing rising youth-related violence linked to substance abuse.

The initiative was unveiled in Osubi, Delta State, by CEPEJ National Coordinator, Sheriff Mulade, during the presentation of the organization’s 2026 work plan. He said the campaign aims to educate pupils and students on the dangers of social vices.

Mulade explained that the work plan outlines programmes focused on peacebuilding, environmental justice, education support, climate awareness, and economic empowerment across urban and rural communities in the region.

Planned activities include youth sports tournaments, academic competitions, and skills-acquisition programmes for young people and women. CEPEJ expressed confidence that the initiative would promote sustainable peace and stronger community resilience.
