Breaking News: Okpebholo Declared Governor-Elect of Edo State

Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Edo State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Warri Sentinel can confirm.

Okpebholo was declared winner of the election by the INEC State Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, late Sunday.

Prof. Kuta, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, said Okpebhole polled 291,667 votes to emerge winner of the keenly contested governorship election.

 According to the results announced, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Asue Ighodalo, came second after polling 247,274 votes.
