Agbeyi Unveils Foundation, Distributes N4m in Ifiekporo
Ifiekporo community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, was filled with excitement and joy on Christmas Day as the community’s Chairman, Mr. Monday Agbeyi, distributed over four million naira in cash gifts. The beneficiaries, including the elderly, physically challenged individuals, and members with entrepreneurial aspirations, were overwhelmed by the generous gesture.
The event, which was graced by residents and dignitaries, also saw the unveiling of the Princess Oji Ejoki Ikengbuwa Foundation, a new initiative dedicated to honoring the legacy of Agbeyi’s paternal great-grandmother, Princess Oji Ejoki Ikengbuwa, the direct descendant of the founder of Ifiekporo.
In his opening speech, Mr. Agbeyi, who was beaming with smiles, emphasized that the foundation was established in remembrance of his great-grandmother, known for her selflessness and charitable acts. He stated that the cash giveaway was a way to keep her legacy alive and to continue the tradition of giving that she embodied.
“This is the maiden edition; it will be an annual event. We are unveiling the Princess Oji Ejoki Ikengbuwa Foundation today in honor of my great-grandmother, the daughter of the founder of this community,” Agbeyi said. “My great-grandmother was known far and wide for her generous deeds, and we are here to carry on that legacy.”
He further expressed that while it was his birthday, he chose to focus on celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, underscoring the importance of giving and community service on such a significant day.
Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, representing Delta South Senatorial District, officially launched the foundation, with the ceremony attended by a host of local leaders. The senator, who was represented by his Senior Special Adviser, Mr. Kingsley Tenuma, commended Mr. Agbeyi for his consistent acts of kindness.
“I am not surprised by what is happening here today. Mr. Monday Agbeyi is known for his generosity and his willingness to support those around him,” Tenuma said.
Five deserving members of the community each received a cash gift of 500,000 naira, as part of the Christmas giveaway. The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude, praying for long life, good health, and continued prosperity for Agbeyi and the foundation.
