Omadino Appeals for University Status for Technical College

The people of Omadino Community in Warri South Local Government Area have appealed to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, to upgrade the newly completed Model Technical College in Omadino to a full-fledged Delta State University of Science and Technology.

Chairman of the Omadino Management Committee, Mr. Tuoyo Mogbeyiteren, made the appeal during the official commissioning ceremony of the college on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Speaking at the event, Governor Oborevwori hailed the technical college as a flagship investment in technical and vocational education by his administration. He emphasized that the institution is strategically designed to unlock youth entrepreneurship and create a new generation of wealth creators among its graduates.

In a notable exchange, the governor also responded to a request from The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, for more infrastructural projects in Itsekiri riverine communities, assuring the monarch with the statement, “You will see what will happen in the next exco, Your Majesty.”
