Anioma Youth Council Faults Uromi Flyover, Demands Power Project

The President General of the Anioma Youth Council Worldwide, Marcus Enudi, has raised objections to the proposed Uromi Junction flyover project, saying it does not reflect the most pressing needs of Delta North.

In a statement shared through social media, Enudi argued that electricity supply remains the region’s biggest challenge. He urged the government to prioritize the long-delayed Independent Power Plant (IPP) Stepdown project instead of investing in road infrastructure with limited impact.

He noted that traffic congestion around Uromi Junction is rarely severe, adding that improved power supply would stimulate economic growth, support small businesses and improve living standards across Anioma communities.

The youth body called on the state government to reassess its development priorities in line with the immediate needs of the people.
