Oborevwori Seeks Assembly Approval for N200bn Supplementary Budget
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has presented a N200 billion supplementary budget to the State House of Assembly for consideration. The proposal allocates N140.6 billion to recurrent expenditure and N59.4 billion to capital projects.
Speaker of the House, Dennis Guwor, announced the request during plenary in Asaba on Tuesday. The governor explained that the supplementary budget is intended to address critical financial obligations before the 2025 budget expires on January 31, 2026.
According to Oborevwori, the additional funding will cover pension arrears, increased health insurance enrolment costs, foreign debt servicing, higher statutory allocations to local governments and urgent community projects.
If approved, the total 2025 budget size will rise to N1.179 trillion, comprising N489.4 billion for recurrent spending and N689.8 billion for capital expenditure. The proposal has passed first reading.
