Gov Oborevwori Hands Over 65 SUVs to Delta Traditional Rulers
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori presented 65 new SUVs to traditional rulers across Delta State on Wednesday at the Government House in Asaba. The vehicles include 60 Toyota Prado SUVs and five Land Cruisers.
The governor said the vehicles are important tools to help traditional leaders carry out their duties. He highlighted their role in community mobilization, dispute resolution, promoting government programs, and supporting security efforts.
Oborevwori stressed that the SUVs were chosen for their durability and are meant to improve service delivery, not as luxury items.
Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme expressed the administration’s respect for traditional institutions, while Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, noted the government’s progress in development.
HRM Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd.), Chairman of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, thanked the government, saying the vehicles would boost the effectiveness of the monarchs.
