Aina Adesola Assumes Office as Delta Commissioner of Police

Aina Adesola has formally assumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police in Delta State, marking a fresh phase in the state’s security leadership aimed at strengthening policing and improving public safety.

The new police chief took over during a handover ceremony at the Delta State Police Command headquarters in Asaba, where he was received with a guard of honour and conducted inspections of operational vehicles. The ceremony also featured interactions with senior officers and personnel of the Command.

Speaking at the event, CP Adesola reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining peace and order, tackling crime decisively, and building trust between the police and communities across the state. He stressed that effective policing depends on strong partnerships with residents and other stakeholders.

A post by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, which included a two-minute video of the ceremony, formally introduced Adesola as the 23rd Commissioner of Police in the state.

CP Adesola brings years of experience to the role, having previously served as Divisional Police Officer at Aswani in Lagos, where he was commended for professionalism, and later as Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Rivers State Criminal Investigation Department. He assured residents that his administration would adopt proactive strategies and intelligence-driven operations to address security challenges, including incidents of kidnapping and other crimes in parts of Delta State.
