Osun Governor Adeleke Joins Accord Party
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has shifted his political base to the Accord Party, setting the tone for an intense buildup to the 2026 governorship election. His announcement on Tuesday confirmed Accord as the platform he will rely on for the August 8 contest.
Adeleke said his decision, finalized on November 6, 2025, followed broad consultations with key figures across the state. He said Accord’s focus on citizen welfare and worker-oriented policies mirrors the direction his administration has pursued since taking office.
He acknowledged the PDP’s role in his political journey but pointed to prolonged internal disputes at the national level as the reason he stepped away. His formal notice of resignation was submitted on November 4, 2025.
With the move complete, Adeleke affirmed that his development agenda remains unchanged, now continuing under Accord’s banner.
