NRC Commends Staff for Rapid Action on Warri–Itakpe Rail Line
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has commended its Civil and New Lines teams for their quick action after a section of the Warri–Itakpe Railway Line was vandalised in the early hours of Sunday. Despite the incident occurring on a non-working day, staff moved promptly to the site.
Engineers and technical crews began emergency repairs immediately, focusing on stabilising the affected track to keep train services running safely and without major disruption. The NRC said the rapid mobilisation reflects its strong commitment to safeguarding the nation’s rail infrastructure.
Management also highlighted the dedication and resilience of its workforce, noting that personnel continue to carry out their duties under challenging conditions while ensuring the rail network remains reliable for travellers.
Reiterating its zero-tolerance stance on vandalism, the Corporation urged communities to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity around rail corridors. Managing Director Dr. Kayode Opeifa added that the efforts of NRC staff have not gone unnoticed, saying the nation appreciates their service.
