Delta Police Investigate Mother Over Alleged Abuse of Toddler
The Delta State Police Command is investigating a troubling case in which a mother is accused of sexually abusing her three-year-old daughter. The case came to light after the child’s father alerted the police upon observing disturbing signs in recent video recordings involving his children.
Police spokesperson Bright Edafe confirmed the matter in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the child was found with indicators of abuse and has received medical attention. He urged parents to pay close attention to their children’s wellbeing and report concerns immediately.
In a recorded interview shared online, the mother allegedly acknowledged the abuse during questioning. Edafe emphasised that swift reporting remains essential to protecting children and ensuring that offenders face justice.
This latest incident follows another widely reported case in Delta State involving allegations against a father, heightening calls for stronger child protection measures and broader community awareness.
