Delta@34: Gov Oborevwori Calls for Unity and Development

Delta State has marked its 34th anniversary with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori urging citizens to remain united and focused on building a stronger and more prosperous state.

Speaking at a thanksgiving service in Asaba, the governor said Delta’s diversity should be seen as a strength and called on people to continue promoting peace and fairness. He paid tribute to the founding fathers, past leaders, and citizens whose sacrifices have shaped the state since its creation in 1991.

Mr Oborevwori used the occasion to highlight projects completed under his MORE Agenda, including new flyovers in Warri, Ughelli, and Agbor, and the ongoing Ayakoromo bridge and Omadino-Okerenkoko-Kokodiagbene road aimed at boosting the riverine economy.

He said his government is investing in youth empowerment, healthcare, and education, with scholarships, free medical services for women and children, and upgrades to primary healthcare centres. He added that these efforts were aimed at securing Delta’s future prosperity.
