Dangote Refinery Denies Shutdown Rumours
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has debunked claims of an operational shutdown, insisting its facilities remain fully functional. Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, stated that production and truck loading activities are ongoing, with over 40 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and steady volumes of diesel supplied daily.
The refinery clarified that the sale of Residual Catalytic Oil (RCO) is a routine business activity and that recent tenders for fuel oil are part of normal operations. It emphasised that its predictive and preventive maintenance schedules ensure uninterrupted fuel production.
Challenging the source of the shutdown rumours, management invited interested buyers to place immediate orders for daily deliveries of PMS and diesel over the next 90 days. The company reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and energy security, warning against misinformation spread by individuals seeking to undermine Nigeria’s energy independence.
