Fubara Holds Closed-Door Talks with Tinubu
Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday at the President’s residence in Lagos.
Photos released by the State House confirmed the meeting, which comes amid continued political tensions in Rivers State following Fubara’s suspension on March 18. The details of the discussion remain undisclosed.
President Tinubu has been in Lagos since last week, where he has been commissioning various projects. He is expected to remain in the state through the Sallah celebrations.
This is the second time Governor Fubara has met privately with President Tinubu since his suspension. While the agenda has not been made public, the engagement is likely tied to ongoing efforts to address the political crisis in Rivers State.
Political analysts suggest the meeting may indicate behind-the-scenes negotiations, as Tinubu continues to play a central role in resolving internal party disputes and regional conflicts.
