Police Kill Five Kidnap Suspects in Delta State

Police in Delta State have shot dead five suspected kidnappers during operations in forest across Delta and Anambra State.

Spokesperson for the Delta State Command, Bright Edafe, said officers stormed a hideout in the Agu-Amawbia forest, recovering an AK-47 rifle and 132 rounds of ammunition.

Further investigations led police to a second location between the towns of Issele-Asagba and Otulu, where they came under attack. A gun battle ensued, during which several suspects attempted to flee but sustained serious injuries.

Five of the men, including one identified as Bellow Abubakar, were later confirmed dead in hospital.

A search for the remaining suspects is ongoing.
