Okpebholo Orders Closure of University Satellite Campuses

The Edo State Government has announced the immediate closure of all satellite campuses of Ambrose Alli University (AAU) in Ekpoma. Academic programmes will now be conducted exclusively at the university’s main campus.

In a statement released on Tuesday, February 11, the state government explained that the decision is part of ongoing efforts to improve educational standards and ensure better oversight of academic activities.

Signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, the statement reiterated that the move aligns with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education at the institution.

The government further highlighted that substantial investments have been made in AAU, with the centralisation of academic activities expected to improve both learning conditions and operational efficiency.
