Calls for Ogbe’s Removal is Condemnable- Itsekiri Coalition for APC Progress

The Itsekiri Coalition for APC Progress has issued a firm condemnation against recent calls for the removal of Engr. Felix Ogbe, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). The group, in a statement issued by its National Coordinator, Frank Uromieyaghan and Oritsema Olueh Ejoh, Secretary General on Monday, February 3, the group described such demands as “misguided” and harmful to the unity and advancement of both the ruling party and the Itsekiri Nation.

The Coalition emphasized that Engr. Felix Ogbe is a proud son of the Warri people, and his current role represents the only federal appointment secured for the ethnic group from the federal government. Calling for his removal, they argued, is not only unjust but a disservice to the collective interests of the Itsekiri people. “Such demands are an affront to our progress,” the statement read.

The Coalition noted that the recent leadership training program, which included participants from diverse backgrounds should not be used as a platform for political division. They called on all members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to reject “destructive tactics” that undermine party cohesion and unity.

According to the statement, Ogbe has been tirelessly working to foster national growth and development, and any efforts to discredit his leadership are an attempt to disrupt progress. The group stressed the importance of supporting leaders who are dedicated to advancing the interests of the Itsekiri people and the nation as a whole.

“Engr. Felix Ogbe is the true embodiment of the Renewed Hope agenda,” the statement continued. “His appointment has helped address the longstanding issues of marginalization faced by the Itsekiri people, and it is vital that we stand behind him in his efforts.”

“Let us focus on building bridges rather than tearing down our own leaders. We must rally behind those committed to the advancement of the Iwere Nation and resist any efforts that threaten our cohesion and shared goals.” The statement concluded with a clarion call for unity and support .
