Governor Oborevwori Fires Information Commissioner
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevweri, has dismissed the state’s Information Commissioner, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza. While the reasons for the dismissal remain unclear, sources suggest it follows multiple complaints regarding Osuoza’s alleged incompetence in handling the affairs of the ministry.
Dr. Fred Latimor Oghenesivbe, Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communication, confirmed that Osuoza has been briefed about the situation. Oghenesivbe also indicated that an official announcement would be made by the Governor in due course.
In the interim, the Governor has appointed Charles Aniagwu, the current Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads), to take over the Ministry of Information.
Aniagwu, who previously served as Chief Press Secretary and Commissioner for Information during former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration, is expected to resume duties overseeing both the Ministries of Works and Information starting Monday.
