Asaba Lady Found Dead in Apartment After Missing Work for Days

A lady identified as Lucy Eze has been gruesomely raped and murdered by unknown persons who came into her room via the ceiling in Asaba, Delta state.

Lucy, a graduate of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, had been living in an apartment near the Asaba International Airport.

She had not reported to work since January 5, the official start of the year for her company.

Her employers reported the case to the police, who launched an investigation. Upon closer inspection of the apartment, authorities confirmed she was raped, her fingers cut off with strands of hair on the floor, signs of suggesting that she had been brutally assaulted before her death.

Harrison Gwanishu, of Behind Bars International, Asaba chapter, confirming the incident via his Facebook handle on Friday, January 10, urged the Delta State Police Command, particularly the homicide department, to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

Gwanishu, the Human Rights Advocate who evacuated her decomposing body with his team, advised residents of the city to report any threat to life as significant. “Report any threats or suspicions immediately.”

Reconfirming, her friend, Amarachi Cynthia Ibezim, revealed “they made it through the ceiling, raped and murdered her in cold blood and made away with her properties”.

The situation has left her family in deep grief, and members of the community are puzzled by the rationale for such wickedness.
