“We will Review Minimum Wage Every Two Years”- FG
In a bid to enhance the welfare of the nation’s workforce, the Federal Government of Nigeria has assured Nigerian workers a review on the minimum wage every two years.
Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, made this declaration during a briefing in Umuahia after meeting with labour leaders from Abia State.

Onyejeocha emphasized that the government is committed to a timely review process, stating,
“We are not going to allow minimum wage review to be forever.
“It used to be about five years, but now, in three years, which is less than two years, we will also review the minimum wage,”
She further disclosed that the review process has undergone official documentation.
In July 2024, President Bola Tinubu approved a new minimum wage of 70,000 naira.
