Oborevwori Unveils 2025 Widows’ Empowerment Program

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has committed to launching an extensive empowerment program for widows starting in 2025.

Speaking at the Widows’ Empowerment Forum in Boji-Boji Owa, Ika North East Local Government Area, the governor emphasised the special place widows hold in society and the need for their care.

During the event, organized by Apostle Chris Eruemulor of Calvary World Outreach, Governor Oborevwori took inspiration from Deuteronomy 16:11-14, urging attendees to take care of widows as a moral and divine responsibility. He noted that empowering widows would be a core focus of his administration, underscoring that such efforts are not only a social obligation but also a way to honor God.

The governor also encouraged the widows to remain steadfast in their faith, trust in God, and live with dignity. Reflecting on the Christmas season, Oborevwori said it was a time to remember those in need, particularly widows, and urged them to continue praying for his administration, noting that their prayers had been instrumental in his rise to office.

Apostle Eruemulor, who founded the event, described the yearly gathering as a divine directive to support widows, offering them not just food but hope and encouragement. He assured the women that his efforts to help them would continue, stressing the importance of faith in Christ.

The forum also included food distribution to the widows, marking the beginning of what Governor Oborevwori described as a long-term commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable women in the state.
