Delta ADC Crisis: Unuafe Insists He Remains Governorship Candidate Not Ogboru

Dr. Emmanuel Usiwoghene Unuafe, the governorship candidate of the Engr. Austin Okolie-led faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State, has dismissed claims suggesting that Chief Great Ogboru is the party’s governorship candidate, insisting that he remains the legitimate flagbearer of his faction.

In a statement released on his official Facebook page, Unuafe broke his silence amid claims by another faction that Chief Great Ogboru is the ADC governorship candidate in Delta State.

While expressing respect for Ogboru, Unuafe said he had previously reached out to him and other stakeholders in an effort to unite different interests within the party, stressing that his objective was to promote unity rather than factional politics.
However, he reaffirmed his claim to the party’s governorship ticket, declaring: “I remain the legitimate Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State.”

He further stated that, “My mandate is neither negotiable through intimidation nor transferable through media parades,” adding that legitimacy is based on “truth, due process, and lawful authority.”

Unuafe said his silence should not be interpreted as acceptance of opposing claims, noting that his conviction remains rooted in his faith and commitment to the political assignment before him.

The statement, which contained several biblical references, described the current dispute as a period of testing and urged supporters to remain calm while encouraging those seeking clarity to verify the facts.

The development comes amid continued discussions and competing claims over the ADC governorship ticket in Delta State.
