NFF Releases Fixtures for 2026 President Federation Cup, Asaba to Host Final

The fixtures for the men’s and women’s categories of the 2026 President Federation Cup have been unveiled following the official draw ceremony held on Monday at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Secretariat in Abuja.

Speaking during the ceremony, NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, said the draw process followed the same format as previous editions. He noted, however, that this year’s competition would be more straightforward, with no team receiving a bye into the next round.

Dr. Sanusi assured participating teams, match officials, and stakeholders that the President Federation Cup—Nigeria’s oldest and most prestigious domestic football competition—would be played on a level playing field, with all rules and regulations strictly enforced to ensure fairness and transparency throughout the tournament.

During the men’s draw, defending champions Kwara United were seeded first, while 2025 runners-up Abakaliki FC were placed at number 64. The competition will continue in its traditional knockout format.

Dr. Sanusi also confirmed that Asaba, the capital of Delta State, will host the grand finale of this year’s President Federation Cup.

In the women’s competition, several exciting fixtures headline the opening round, including Rivers Angels against NAF Queens, FC Robo Queens versus Rangers Women, and Pacesetter Queens taking on Bayelsa Queens. Defending contenders Edo Queens, Delta Queens, and Nasarawa Amazons will also begin their campaigns against Ghetto Tiger Queens, Royal Queens, and Osklean FC respectively.

The men’s competition also produced several standout ties, with Kwara United set to face Sporting Supreme U-19 in their opening fixture, while Bendel Insurance take on Katsina United Jnr. Other notable pairings include Akwa United versus Wilbros FC, Bayelsa United against OISA FC, Sunshine Stars against Niger Tornadoes, and El Sharma FC facing Enyimba FC.

All matches in both categories will be played on a straight knockout basis, with winners advancing to the next round.
